Elizabeth Urgell and Brendaliz Zanetti present: Trauma-Informed Care and Secondary Traumatic Stress

With half of the student population entering the school system in the United States with one or more adversities, it is important to know trauma-informed care strategies to support them in the classroom. It is also equally important to know how to care for yourself as the educator in the classroom to avoid secondary traumatic stress. Participants will learn the manifestations of adverse childhood experiences in their students, how to create safe learning environments for them, and how to protect themselves from acquiring secondary traumatic stress.
