Amanda Snipes presents: Somebody Call the Plumber: Addressing the Teacher Pipeline Problem

From preparation to retention, the teacher pipeline is struggling to stay intact, negatively impacting all students—non-minority and minority students. Participants will be presented with current teacher retention research findings and will brainstorm how to address teacher retention for all teachers, minority teachers, and non-minority teachers.

Amanda Snipe

Amanda Snipe is an educator of 12 years with her BA and M.A.T. from the University of South Carolina. She earned her doctoral degree in Education Leadership at Charleston Southern University. Her research interests include teacher retention and education equity. Currently, Amanda is a K-5 Math Instructional Coach in Dorchester 2. Her experiences include being an upper elementary classroom teacher, Math intervention teacher in grades 2-8, Title I Facilitator, and Instructional Coach. Amanda also serves as the Government Relations Representative for SCCTM. Amanda is from the Charleston, SC area and enjoys dining and spending time with her husband and daughter.
